‘”Everyone should try wearing a bodysuit at least once. Why? I don’t know what it is but wearing a bodysuit feels empowering.”
“Those look uncomfortable,” remarks my boyfriend as he points to a rack full of bodysuits. Two weeks before, I would have said the same thing. Why would anyone want to subject themselves to wearing what is basically a one-piece bathing suit over your underwear when you could just tuck in your dang shirt?
But somehow, I ended up reading the Cosmo article, I Wore BodySuits For A Full Week and This Is What Happened. I was enticed by the author’s new found confidence from just wearing this one simple piece. Later that night, I ordered a red tie-up bodysuit along with one that stated SQUAD across the front. Because like #YOLO.
So here is the verdict on bodysuits: Do it. Everyone should try wearing a bodysuit at least once. Why? I don’t know what it is but wearing a bodysuit feels empowering. Maybe it’s because ya girl Beyoncé kills it on stage whenever she’s struttin’ around wearing one of these things. Or maybe it’s when your clothes are in one piece, it feels like the rest of your life is also in one piece instead of being scrambled around in the complete mess it is. But who knows? Obvs you want to pair it with some pants or a skirt unless you want to be like Miley Cyrus in We Can’t Stop. (And if you actually want to be like Miley, cheers to you and your confidence babe.) Just a forewarning, unless you want to strip down naked when you gotta go to the bathroom like every single romper you own, try to find a bodysuit with snaps at the bottom.
And you can find my red lace-up bodysuit from this post here: Lace-Up Body Suit.
